Density is used in "vom Innen - Kornung" as a central compositional characteristic in order to transform the large number of sound dots into surfaces. The surfaces are transformed by the most diverse articulations and arcs into elements that can be distinguished from one another. At the same time, the conscious setting of specific instructions leads to irregularities that "roughen" the structures of the surfaces; grain occurs.
One could say that technical processes touch the inside - the core - and change its structure; as time passes during execution, its structure changes. The different degrees of "roughness" could be understood as an individualization of what is difficult to distinguish. Furthermore, structural elements such as reduction, superimposition or the dynamics/volume gradients, which are generated on their own separate level, have a strong effect on the formal structure of the work.
